Lions Club Commitment to Vision Health

Since Lions Clubs International was founded in 1917, Lions have worked on projects designed to prevent blindness, restore eyesight and improve eye health and eye care for hundreds of millions of people worldwide. Indeed, vision is one of Lions most celebrated (and contributed to) causes. The North Rose Lions Club is committed to the Lions mission to assist members of our community to prevent vision loss and to see the world in the best way they can.

How We Help

KidSight Vision Screening for Children

We participate in Lions KidSight: Vision Screening for Children. Although the pandemic limited our ability to do school eye screenings, we have in the past (and will again) help the youth of our community by vision screening and helping get access to glasses if needed.

We believe that every child, every person, should see the world to the best of their ability, and our screenings and assistance can help achieve that.

KidSight screenings are available free of charge to local schools, daycares and community events, where young children will be present. To learn more about KidSight USA, go to Lions KidSight or contact the North Rose Lions Club.

Eye Glasses Collection and Recycling

Collecting and recycling eye glasses is one of the longtime traditions of Lions Club chapters, including North Rose Lions Club.  One of the easiest ways you can become a part of our mission of serving others,  is to donate your old eye glasses. Help someone see the world through the glasses you no longer use.

Drop off your used eye glasses at Lyons National Bank, or contact us for a pickup.

We collect eye glasses and hearing aids at drop boxes located throughout the area.  (List of receptacles coming soon!)

Eye Glasses Assistance

For those in need of eyeglasses, the North Rose Lions Club can assist in the acquisition eyeglasses at little or no cost for those who are under-resourced and qualify. With the help of national and community partnerships, those in need can acquire the eye glasses they need for school, work, and living a fulfilling life.
